CPU Problem?

Post by jamsinux » Sun Jun 08, 2008 4:13 pm

hello,
I tried tutorial [Demo6 and Demo7] on my PC and when it loads, I get a message sying "No Operating System Found. Remove Discs and press any key to restart". When I tried it on another PC it works fine, even on Bochs, it is OK. Then again, on Microsoft Virtual PC, I get the same error message...
Is it possible that the OS does not support Dual-Core CPU's? My PC has 2 CPU's and the other one has 1.
Thanks.

The latest version of bochs supports dual core emulation iirc.

Which version are you using and does it work with the newest one?

I don't think so. It works great in my main pc (the demo4) (Amd Athlon 4000+ Dual-Core and 64 bit support).

Cheers,
Gonzalo

I am not sure about my BOCHS version because I don't use it much. Somtimes I prefer Virtual PC or VMWare(works fine on this too).

I rather use VMware (maybe a little suggestion to Mike?)

Hey everyone,

The demos and series has been updated with several bug fixes that can cause it to triple fault on certain hardware. If you like, try out the new code and please let me know if it works or not :)

Stage 3? The kernel? If so, not yet. The next tutorial will probably be posted first (I am thinking sometime today or tomorrow).

All of stage 2 has been updated though.
