OSDev Series Updates

Post by Mike » Tue Jul 27, 2010 12:16 am

Hello everyone,

Chapter 18 of our OS Development Series has been updated to include more content and some important bug fixes in the provided demo software. Because of this, demo releases of all following chapters will be updated to reflect the new changes over the next few days.

The next chapter, Chapter 23, is planned to cover user mode and single tasking. It is planned for release soon after the above updates have been completed.

Please let me know if there are any comments or suggestions.

Drivers would be another tutorial :P
Jinix. Kernel programming is a black art that should be avoided if at all possible.

Me too was missing driver tuts dearly & can judge from the above posts, I am not the only one. So they'd be great if put up.

Hello everyone,
Any time frame on this, Mike?
Chapter 23 cant proceed until the updates are completed. Updates are almost complete however; everything should be finished by today. Chapter 23 is currently planned for within the next two weeks assuming time allows it. I apologize for the delay; been very busy these last few weeks.

Are you referring to more information on how to use the minidrivers provided or more information on drivers and driver interfaces (like used in commercial OS's)?
